Video Editing Practice Blog Reflection

I have recently been introduced to the platform Premier Pro on Adobe in order to manage and hopefully master the platform, to eventually aid in my blog component of this course. Premier pro is a very intriguing and useful platform that will come in handy when completing the rest of this course.

The overall process of learning the software Premier pro was a very transformative process, my first impression of the software was very intimidating. Our instructor provided us with a set of instructional videos that aided much in my initial introduction to the software. I also recognized a point of   realization where my understanding transformed from very minimal to a deeper understanding of all of the components of the software. Once I understood how each part of Premier Pro works with the rest of the parts of the platform, understanding how to actually utilize it was much easier.

My experience with Adobe Premier Pro also included creating a forty-five second clip with the software. The instructional videos, though did not walk me through each induvial step, portrayed to me how each feature of the program interacted with each other. With this information I was able to create a proper introduction of the pineapple whip stand including a rule of thirds shot, B-roll shots, and lower third wording. My final product clip was exiting to complete, because of the coherency and successfulness of the clip. Creating a clip with Premier Pro made me feel proud of my new accomplishment and mastery.

Final Clip-

The main challenge I believed I faced while using this software for the first time was trying to keep and organized 'working station' as describes by the instructional videos. When creating a clip, Premier Pro presents with 4 main sections that each do different things during the creation of a clip. These sections I found were adjustable to your liking. In my exploration of the platform, I accidentally blew these parts off of a reasonable proportion, which made it very difficult to work with, due to the confusion of trying to move clips. In a rush to have a quick fix I unfortunately deleted my project thus far; however, the software provides a function that resets your working board that I have since discovered and utilized.

Working sections adjusted to personal Preference-

My newfound knowledge of this software will help overall with my portfolio project by giving an understanding on how I will be organizing my final project.
