Magazine Cover Conventions Blog Reflection

My learning of magazine conventions was very extensive. In my learnings I accumulated a deeper understating of how each factor of a magazine cover allows magazines to target different audiences, using techniques and follow similar conventions, regardless of genre. For example, I discovered that feature articles provide a more in-depth initial coverage that's intrigues the reader.

The genre convention I choose for my magazine aligned with self-improvement, and mediation. My magazine cover coneys this by included a cover image of a blossoming tree, signifying growth. Additionally, the main color that I included in my design was a bright yellow, known for reflecting happiness and tranquility.

The magazine conventions that I used includes a Large recognizable title in a calming font and color, aiding in the presentation of genre of the magazine. I also utilized "puffs" like, 'Seasons change, so can you" to catch the audience's attention to the main point of the magazine, self-growth.

I believe the major challenge I faced was the creation of unwanted rectangular boxes. In design provides a feature that allows the user to create shapes to their desired size that can later change color and be used in many different ways. However, I then came to the realization that to fix this issue, the selection tool on the far top right corner removed the ability to create these unwanted shapes. A major accomplishment that I achieved was the quality improvement of my cover photo. By right clicking the image am clicking of the high image quality option my cover image no longer appeared grainy.
