This week, I started the production stage for my mindfulness magazine by working on the layout of my feature article in Adobe InDesign. At this stage, I am focusing on testing typography, arranging headings, and planning how the text will flow across the pages. I haven’t added any of my actual photographs yet, so all the image spaces are still placeholders, but I wanted to see how everything might look once the real images are inserted later.
I set up the spreads with text boxes for the main article and smaller sections, experimenting with spacing, alignment, and font combinations. I tried to make sure the headings stand out while keeping the body text calm and easy to read, which fits the overall theme of mindfulness. By testing the layout now, I can make adjustments before adding images so that the magazine will feel balanced and visually cohesive.
Even though I haven’t placed my photographs yet, I can start thinking about where images will work best on the page and how they will complement the text. This early layout work helps me plan the visual flow of the magazine and ensures that when I do insert the final images, everything will feel intentional and polished.
Overall, this stage is helping me move forward in production because it bridges my written content and photography with the magazine design. I’m now ready to continue refining the spreads and eventually add the images to complete the look of my feature article.
